A Polynesian Adventure

Since today was our last day of vacation, we figured we would finally give Tai Tiki a try.  We are so glad we did!

We arrived around 3:00 because that’s when Happy Hour starts and I knew I wanted one of their funky drinks.  For the first 20 minutes or so, we had the restaurant to ourselves.  When the waitress came, I ordered the Smoking Eruption.  It is made of spiced rum, vodka, guava juice, and pineapple juice.  It was very tasty and it oozes smoke…what’s not to love about that?!

Since it was our first visit, we decided to order some sushi and an appetizer to start things off.  The sushi roll was called Hot-Lady in Pink Roll which consisted of shrimp tempura, avocado, torched salmon, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and masago.  The appetizer we ordered was the Crab Puff which was made with crab meat and cream cheese and wrapped in a wonton shell.  Both items were excellent!  The sushi tasted fresh and delicious.  The puff wasn’t like your average Crab Rangoon.  It was so much better.  I would definitely order it again!

For dinner, my husband ordered the Pan Seared Duck.  It came with glazed carrots, grilled asparagus, and roasted garlic whipped potatoes.  He loved his dinner.  I am not usually a fan of duck…I guess it’s a bit gamey for my liking.  He pretty much insisted I try a piece anyway, and hot damn that duck was tasty!  Not sure what they did, but it was pretty bomb!

I ordered the Salmon with Lemon Caper Butter and man….that was excellent!!  It was sushi grade salmon, broiled and served with grilled asparagus, and roasted garlic whipped potatoes.  It couldn’t have been any better!  I will definitely order that again.

Needless to say, we had a great time.  I give this place a 5 out of 5!  It is a bit pricey but you definitely are getting what you pay for here.  The staff was great too!  I will be recommending this place to everyone.
